FAQ
Q: How does the grading system work? (With reference to the CEFR descriptions)
The examination has Levels A, B, C, D, and E. Level A is the graduation standard for our students of the Department of English (B2 or above). Level B is the graduation standard for our students of the Day Division, and students of the four-year class of advanced students in the Extension Division start year 2018 (B1). Students of Levels C and D may enroll in the “Professional Career English Bridge Program” to meet the minimum English proficiency requirements for graduation (A2). Level E equals A1.
Q: How can I look up my score? Will I receive any notification?
You must log onto the Registration Website https://nportal.ntut.edu.tw/index.do?ssoId=StuETA to look up your score during the lookup period of each semester. The examination is only valid in NTUT. Students must look up their scores online by themselves (same username and password as for the campus portal).
Q: If I want to enroll in the junior course “Professional Career English” with my score, or have my score recognized for the minimum graduation requirements, will it be too late? How can I apply?
To enroll in the junior course “Professional Career English” with the score of this exam for the minimum graduation requirements, you will still have to apply with the Office of the Registrar. You can apply at any time before graduation.
For students who have passed the NTUT minimum English proficiency requirements for graduation in this exam, please stay patient. We are discussing simplifying the processes and the possibility of some technical details. We will announce the process of waiving the minimum English proficiency requirements for graduation before publishing the scores.
