Remote Learning FAQ for Students: Application-Related Issues (May 15- June 26, 2021).

  • The following regulations are only applicable to the remote learning period (May 15, 2021 - June 26, 2021).
  • Classes with 100 students or more will be taught remotely until June 8, 2021.
  • Latest information will be updated on a rolling basis according to the status of pandemic situation.

For Graduate Students- Thesis/ Dissertation Defense

Would the deadline for applying thesis/dissertation defense be extended?

In response to the pandemic situation, the due date for applying thesis/dissertation defense has been extended from May 31, 2021 to June 7, 2021.

2 What should the graduate student do if more than five people would attend the indoor thesis/dissertation defense simultaneously?

The graduate student may do as follows to apply for an online thesis/dissertation defense:

1. The whole thesis/dissertation defense process shall be sound-recorded, video-taped, and preserved by the department office for ten years.

2. In addition to the documents required for applying thesis/dissertation defense, please also submit the application form “For Committee: Application for Oral Defense (Video Conferencing)”.(Please download: https://oaa.ntut.edu.tw/var/file/8/1008/img/3217/506054132.docx)”.

3 May the thesis/dissertation defense conducted through video-conferencing?

The graduate student may do as follows to apply for an online thesis/dissertation:

1. The whole thesis/dissertation defense process shall be sound-recorded, video-taped, and preserved by the department office for ten years.

2. In addition to the documents required for applying thesis/dissertation defense, please also submit the application form “For Candidate: Application for Oral Defense (Video Conferencing)”.(Please download: https://oaa.ntut.edu.tw/var/file/8/1008/img/3217/753945568.docx)”.

What can the graduate student react if the advisor asks him/her to arrive at school?

1. Whether the graduate student should arrive at school is determined by the advisor. For those who are arriving at school, please abide by the preventive measures: wear a face mask at all times, take temperature from time to time, divide people into different groups to minimize the risk of infection, and implement real-name system.

2. After receiving the notices from Office of International Affairs, Office of Academic Affairs would inquire the lecturer or dean of the department for further information.

 

For Undergraduate Students- Postponing the Application for Joint Undergraduate and Graduate Program or Change of Major

Would the deadline for applying the Joint Undergraduate and Graduate Program be extended?

The due date for applying Joint Undergraduate and Graduate Program has been extended from May 31, 2021 to June 15, 2021.

Would the deadline for applying Change of Major be extended?

The due date for applying Change of Major has been extended from May 28, 2021 to June 4, 2021.

How to apply for reissuing of student ID card during the remote learning period?

Please follow the steps of reporting a card loss through Taipei Tech Portal, print the Application Form, and bring it to the Joint Service Center along with the receipt of application fee.

You may bring your Alien Residence Certificate (A.R.C.) to receive the reissued student ID card after two business days at the Joint Service Center.

How to apply for the transcript during the remote learning period?

1. The academic documents (such as transcripts, certificate of ranking, certificate of enrollment…etc.) may be issued by the vending machine at the Joint Service Center.

2. If you are unable to arrive at school and apply for the transcript in person, please use the Online Transcript Application System: https://aps-stu.ntut.edu.tw/sert/ApplyTranscript/LoginUser
